Business Spotlight: Poo Posse

Congratulations to Heather Bays, owner of Poo Posse, this month's Business of the Month. Here's more about her business:

How many years have you been in business? 1
What inspired you to start/purchase/work with this business? I have owned and loved dogs my whole life. When I thought of this idea, I had acquired three additional dogs living at my house. I had 5 dogs sharing the same pen. I was out cleaning the yard, and the idea came to me. It is a natural fit for me since I love working outdoors and with dogs.
What has been your biggest success to date? That I have attained reoccurring weekly clients since the business started.
What has been your biggest challenge? The weather
What inspires you to hit the ground running each morning? Taking care of dogs and making sure yards are clean and safe for dogs and their owners.
What's an interesting fact about your business that most people don't know? Dog waste contains harmful bacteria such a Salmonella and E. coli, plus the high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus are damaging to your grass. I have been working with a client for the last two months and when i started the yard was in bad shape and half dead, but thanks to regular cleaning and the recent rain, her yard is returning to a healthy place for their dogs.
As a member of WorkIT Coworking Center, how does being a member help you? The member support has been encouraging and motivating. I have gained new ideas and knowledge by spending time at WorkIT plus I have made friends.
When you're not working, what is your favorite thing to be doing? I like to spend time with family and friends just hanging out. I love outdoor music festivals and try to go the beach as much as possible.
